That does not mean every 2014–2018 Silverado has a windshield camera. Driver-assistance equipment varied by year, trim, and option package.

2019–2026 Silverado: More Technology Behind the Glass

The all-new Silverado 1500 arrived for 2019. On trucks equipped with features such as Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Chevrolet uses a forward-looking camera mounted behind the windshield near the inside rearview mirror.

Chevrolet explains that this camera reads lane markings and supports the operation of the system. The company also notes that dirt, poor visibility, or obstruction of the windshield in front of the camera can affect performance.

Available features vary considerably across Silverado trims and model years, so the safest approach is not to assume that every newer truck has the same windshield. Why Might a Silverado Need ADAS Calibration?
